Thiruvannamalai Temple, Arunachaleshwara Swamy

Thiruvannamalai Temple is mainly dedicated to Lord Shiva with Godess Apitakuchambaal. This temple is very famous which is located in Tamilnadu and special on Pournami days of every month where devotees will do a giri pradakshana (go round around the hill)   Arunachaleshwara temple is one of the Pancha bhoota Shiva lingas. This linga is known as Agni Lingam.

This week i  visited Thiruvannamalai Temple and did Girivalayam of 14 kms it took me 4 to 5 hrs. Had a very good experience while doing the Giri Valayam around the Arunachaleshwara Swamy hill.

These are the main Shivalingas around the hill. While we are doing GiriValayam we will cover.

1. Indra Lingam
2. Agni Lingam
3. Yama Lingam
4. Niruthi Linga
5. Varuna Lingam
6. Vayu Lingam
7. Kubera Lingam
8. Esanya Lingam

And with all these Shivalingas we will see 6 to 7 Ganapathy Temples, Subrahmanya Swamy Temple, Nandieshwara Swamy, Kali matha Temple, Madura Meenaskhi Devi, Gayatri Devi, Raja Rajeshwari devi temple in which we can see the Maha Vidyas Statues in the temple those are placed on the walls, Arthanareeshwara Swamy with these 2 Sai baba temples, Lord Venkateshwara, Agasthiar, Gowthama Maharshi temples.
